About Pi Kappa Alpha
For over 111 years the Upsilon Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity has remained one of Auburn University’s oldest and most prominent Greek organizations. Since that time, the Upsilon Chapter has maintained its leadership presence on the Auburn campus through its ongoing involvement in organizations such as Student Government Association, Camp War Eagle, Inter-Fraternity Council, Spade Honorary, Campus Crusade, honor societies, and even varsity athletics.
Pi Kappa Alpha hosts an extensive social calendar, including band parties, pledge swaps, socials, date parties, and formals. Pike also excels in both philanthropic donations and community service contributions such as hosting blood drives, restoring houses with the Opelika Historic Preservation Society, and building houses with Habitat for Humanity.
Upsilon History
Upsilon chapter was installed the night of April 5, 1895. Howard Bell Arbuckle was the brother. Six men were present at the installation. The first man was Leonidas Warren Payne, Jr. from Auburn. The second was Walter Lynnwood Fleming from Birmingham. The third was James Lawrence Ballard from Hurtsboro. The forth and final initiate was Emile Gline Abbot from Columbus, GA.
